We had a great time today at my niece's party.
Sammy got some great presents and as you can see she's a big fan of the colour pink!

I offered to make cupcakes for my niece's 5th birthday (which was earlier in the week but her dad and step mum are throwing a party for her tomorrow) and I decided to colour them pink.
I made two shades of pink batter and baked half and half cupcakes.
Hopefully they turn out well!

Kai is teething again (or is it still? I don't know.) and after only napping for 45 minutes I went in to settle him with a bottle.
I really need to listen to my gut because as I walked up the hallway I thought to myself "Callum is going to draw on the hallway door while I'm gone."
I went in to Kai and gave him a bottle, probably spent no more than 10 minutes if that, in his room.
I came out, shut his door behind me when I heard what sounded like a sawing noise.
I stepped towards the hallway door wondering if I even wanted to know what I was going to find when opening the door there's Callum jumping up and shoving the red crayon in his hand behind his back and look mighty guilty.
The sawing noise was the sound of him scribbling on the hallway door.
I KNEW IT!
To me his artwork kind of resembles the shape of Australia and also a Goomba out of the Mario Bros games.
Or it could just be me. lol

Alex bought a motorbike (finally) yesterday.
Hopefully it'll be many a year yet before Callum gets to actually ride it/one.

My sister flew to Canberra from Melbourne this morning (after being grounded on the plane before take off due to a crazy Italian man taking a cart for a joy ride around the air fields! lol) to surprise our future sister in law for her bridal shower that is tomorrow and I made her come shopping with me as I wanted a new pair of jeans.
We stopped into Borders for a browse (not for jeans, duh.) and decided to have a look at the cards there.
This one caught my eye.
I love it. It's so random. :)

Alex and I went out to celebrate Alex's birthday tonight.
We went and saw Toy Story 3 (awesome movie!) and then went for dinner afterwards.
We were going to go to Hog's Breath Cafe but were told we'd have to wait 45 minutes to be seated which wasn't doable for us seeing it was already about 9pm and the boys were being babysat.
After doing a quick walk around we decided to try out Kingsleys Steak & Crab House for the first time.
While it's not a place I'd eat at regularly with the choice of food (I'm not a big steak eater) the fish I had was very good.
Alex really liked his steak (and his beer. lol) that he had so that's all that matters to me as we were there for him. :)

I bought the most awesome pair of Sugar Skull pants from Star Struck Dezines for Kai and they arrived today.
They are for his 1st Birthday.
I can't wait until October!

We found out Myer had free face painting & balloon animals today.
Seeing we were there anyway we got Callum a balloon dog.
The dog did have a bubble at the tip of his tail but it wouldn't stay in much to Callum's disappointment. lol

Seeing as we were northside tonight we stopped into 'As Nature Intended' at the Belconnen Markets to get soap as we were down to one bar left.
We've been buying their soap for a few years now.
It costs a bit more than your usual generic grocery store soap but we like it. :)

Callum had his very first sleepover last night.
He stayed with my parents and had a ton of fun as my nieces were also there.

Took a trip down memory lane when I saw this Barbie in Myer today.
'Peaches 'n Cream Barbie'.
I remember getting her for Christmas.
I should still have her somewhere.
I had no idea she was released in 1985 though.
It's moments like this I remember just how old I actually am.

Yesterday my mum taught me how to prune roses and today I tackled the roses that she didn't do.
I think I did pretty well.
Got snagged a few times on some thorns and drew a bit of blood but look at the size of those thorns!
I think it was inevitable.
