Day 31

 31-01-10

Today Alex put up the 8ft trampoline we've borrowed from my brother.
He isn't using it at the moment (no room in his tiny backyard) so we thought we'd put it to good use.
Callum LOVES it.
Just wish he'd stop begging me to hop on it as I'm not much of a fan of bouncing around. lol

Day 30

 30-01-10

Super busy day today.
This morning after dropping the boys off at my parents, we took a trailer load of boxes of toys from my and my siblings' childhood home to see if there is anything I want to keep or give the boys (if it belonged to my brother - who has already sorted through his toys and taken anything he wants)
We decided to make a day of it and sort out our dreaded gargage.
While it doesn't look like we did much if you were to look inside the garage we actually got rid of A LOT of unwanted books, toys and general 'stuff'.
We worked solidly for a straight 6 hours.
It was a massive achievement with what we're working on but bed definitely looks good tonight.
I am stuffed!

Day 29

 29-01-10

I bought a few outfits for the boys at the Target Bumper Babython sale last week and only got around to washing them today.
Folding the clean washing I smiled as I got to a particular suit of Kai's.
It's a Fisher Price branded suit (note the Rainforest Monkey!) and just loved it when I found it on the rack in store.
Scanned at an absolute bargain (different from what the already reduced price tag said!) but I think I would have still bought it if it wasn't on sale.
Kai is wearing it for the first time tonight. ♥

Day 28

 28-01-10

Too busy and tired today to take a photo of something with substance.
Quickly and poorly snapped a shot of something I'm dealing with at the moment.
Tuesday I managed to walk into the edge of a cupboard in the kitchen.
Not sure how I did it but I certainly did it.
And this is the bruise to prove it.
It is VERY tender and when you have a 2.5 year old that tugs on that arm constantly...I have constant grimace face at the moment.

Day 27

27-01-10

The other week I ordered a few things from Catch of the Day and today my order arrived.
In it were some water blasters that I had been trying to find for Callum for Christmas but everywhere I went were sold out.
When Alex got home this afternoon we went outside to test them out.
I definitely recommend them!
We had a blast, especially when it turned into a water fight when I "accidentally" squirted Alex. ;)

Day 26

26-01-10

Australia Day saw us going for a visit to my parents house.
Ended up playing Band Hero with my brother.
We really must get around to buying the Guitar Hero games for ourselves.
Great fun!

Day 25

25-01-10

Callum received a Pirate Sock Monkey from his Aunt (my sister) for Christmas.
She made it herself.
He loves it but clumsy me managed to bust the seam of the tail open in two spots.
Until I'm confident enough to repair it myself (not the best handsewer!) Pirate Sock Monkey had a visit from Dr Mum.
All is well.
Pirate Sock Monkey's bill is in the mail.

Day 24

24-01-10

Sitting outside with Alex and the boys today I saw just in time an apple from the apple tree down the back of our yard fall to the ground with a thud.
We had parrots!
Instead of dashing off to scare them away I dashed inside to grab the camera.

Day 23

23-01-10

It got to 35*c (95*f) here today.
The boys had fun in a tepid bath to cool down and, in this house, baths usually mean bubbles.
Callum loves trying to pop them all with his finger (and has sometimes tried using his tongue!) while chanting "Pop! Pop! Pop!".

Day 22

22-01-10

Yesterday was my big brother's birthday.
As it fell on a Thursday this year it was tonight that a gathering was planned to celebrate it.
He invited a group of his friends out for drinks at one of the local clubs.
It was lovely just having a break from the normal day to day routine of being a SAHM (kids were left with my parents) and while I am not a big talker in person I love sitting and just listening to those around me.
Great night.
Happy Birthday, Geoff! :)

Day 21

21-01-10

I couldn't seem to get out of my own way today.
Just one of those days.
I was however looking forward all day to having a shower.
Finally got one about an hour ago.

(and I've also realised I really must clean our shower head. Ew.)

Day 20

20-01-10

Welcome to our garage.
Having moved in to our own house October '09 and then having Kai a week later, unpacking boxes had been put on hold.
This evening Alex and I went hunting for Callum's Bumbo for Kai to use that had been in storage for the past year (as you can see we found it).
The garage is completely full of boxes (and the car that Alex is restoring...) and everytime I look inside I get very overwhelmed.
We've moved into a house that doesn't have a spare room.
We have more stuff than we have rooms.
We'll be box free one day.

Day 19

19-01-10

Lazing on the couch watching the Australian Open this was my view of my little baby boy.
Baby feet!!

Day 18

18-01-10

We bought a few new summer suits for Kai yesterday as he desperately needed size 00 now that he's suddenly got so big and his size 000 suits are a little too snug.
Today they went through the wash.
It was super windy yet cool but thankfully the rain that was forecasted held off and all my washing dried.
Kai can stop wearing the mismatched size 00 clothes that I've dug out of Callum's old baby clothes now!

Day 17

17-01-10

Today while we were out doing some shopping we stopped and got ourselves a cup of gelato.
The flavours we chose were 'American Chocolate' (which totally tasted like a Snickers bar) and 'Veronese Chocolate'. (which tasted just like a Ferrero Rocher)
It was a little warm in the shopping centre (summer, top floor) hence the melting and drip on my hand.

2 spoons for 2 adults and 1 toddler.
Yum.

Day 16

16-01-10

I didn't take today's photo.
Alex was outside with Callum when we had a downpour of rain today and he grabbed the camera to have a little photoshoot of his own.
I think Alex takes a pretty great shot!

(excuse the same clothes on Callum as yesterday. He put yesterday's clothes on to get wet in.)

Day 15

15-01-10

My parents visited today to drop a few things off to us and also my dad helped Alex with lopping some tree branches we had to remove near powerlines in our backyard in accordance to the eletricity company. I got so caught up in chatting with my mum all afternoon I forgot to get out the camera.
It was after dinner though that Alex pointed out what should be my Photo of the Day and I agreed.
Apparently, according to Callum who was "off to work" when we asked, all you need to go to work is daddy's lunch box and a container of blueberries.
What else could one possibly need?

Day 14

14-01-10

Living in Australia means drought and water restrictions.
We haven't been able to water our lawn with a hose/sprinkler in years.
Buckets only and the water used must be recycled water.
While it's the norm for lawns here to be brown, crunchy, patchy and practically dead, they still need mowing as the weeds still manage to thrive.
Today Alex mowed our lawns.
Goodbye weeds for another few weeks.

Day 13

13-01-10

You know you're a parent when...
the only band-aid in the house is a Wiggles one!

Day 12

12-01-10

In between tantrums from the 2.5 year old today we did some colouring in.
Well, I coloured in at least.
Crayons in a heatwave...makes things interesting!
