Day 59

 28-02-10

The aftermath of a demise of an internet friendship.
It's amazing just how much a few mean spirited words on a computer screen can hurt.
:(

Day 58

 27-02-10

2 more sleeps until the Love Your Camera workshop!
After digging through a couple of boxes that haven't been unpacked from moving last October I have the DSLR's manual that is needed for Monday.
I don't think it's ever been opened before and we've had the camera for at least 7 years!

Day 57

 26-02-10

Today we dropped Kai off at my mum's place so we could take Callum to the Canberra Show.
We slathered on the sun screen and had a lot of fun.
Callum patted some farm animals, had a ride on some kiddy boats, the dodgem cars with Alex (it was dead quiet at that ride so they were the only car running which meant no one bumping into them), had a go on the clowns, caught a few fish and a duck - we ended up with some tacky prizes! Total show fun!
We came away with a Wiggles show bag, a few little freebies and one tired but happy little Callum. :)

-Bonus Photo for Day 57-

I couldn't quite decide which photo to post as I was drawn to two.
While I still loved the first photo I kept coming back to this one.
I even asked Alex to choose but he ended up with the same opinion.
So the only solution I could come up with is to post both.

I have never ever been inside a Haunted House ride.
I think I'll put it on my Bucket List.

Day 56

 25-02-10

While I may not like to cook, there is one or two things that turn out rather well for me.
Tonight I made a zucchini slice.
Of course I had a little helper.
Only the cutest little helper there could be!

Day 55

 24-02-10

Having been in bed all day with a killer headache I had missed every opportunity to take a photo for today.
But I was lucky.
We have seen this cat hanging around our house for the past few weeks.
We have no idea who he (and yes, he is a he) belongs to. He is friendly and enjoys a pat but is also fairly skittish as well.
This evening as Alex was heading to the shed behind the garage he spied the cat just sitting and enjoying, what it looked like, a moments peace.
Alex motioned for me to come over to take a look and I took that chance to go grab the camera.
This shot is when the cat finally noticed anyone standing and looking at him.
It makes me wish we still had a cat to snuggle up to at night.
I really miss my cat Astin. :(

Day 54

 23-02-10

Something a little different today - a photo of a 30 year old, well loved - hence the quality, photo.
My mum keeps a photo of all of us (her, my dad and me and my siblings) in her purse and she noticed the other day when going to get money out that Kai totally looks like I did when I was a baby.
I'm sure it's just the bald head and the super fat cheeks though.
I'm also amused at just how long my head is!

Day 53

 22-02-10

My mum came to visit today.
Kai had fun being held by someone other than me.
I will admit I enjoyed the break as well - he's getting heavy!

Day 52

 21-02-10

Unbelievably sick of this face right now.
With Alex away in Sydney until Tuesday I've been keeping Callum as busy as I can to avoid tantrums but also tire him out in the hopes of an easy bedtime tonight seeing as I'm on my own.
All he wants to do is play with "toot toot!" (aka Thomas).
Wouldn't be too bad except for such a tiny toy it's so noisy when it's turned on to go around the track and even if Callum isn't in the same room Thomas must be turned on.

Day 51

 20-02-10

The photo for Day 50 isn't the best but I still kinda like it.
Taking out the rubbish tonight after cleaning up after the BBQ dinner we had I noticed the moon.
I came back inside to grab the camera and the tripod but unfortunately the piece that attaches to the camera to sit on the tripod has gone missing from the camera bag.
I have a feeling a certain 2.5 year old boy is to blame.
I still took a few shots by free hand and after viewing the photos on my laptop this is the one that won with me.
There were shots where you can see the craters of the moon so clearly but I like how this one is framed by the tree branches.

Day 50

 19-02-10

For anyone that truly knows me cooking is not my strong point.
I don't like cooking but I don't mind baking.
Tonight there were a couple of bananas in the fruit bowl that would be facing the bin in a few days if I didn't rescue them so they are now in a cake that is currently cooling.
I wonder how long it's going to last?

Day 49

 18-02-10

Callum discovered bubble wrap today.
The first time he managed to pop a bubble he jumped a mile.
But then broke into hysterical laughter.
I later found him in our bed this afternoon happily (but seriously, look at that face!) popping bubbles and laughing after each one.
mental note: gift idea for his birthday - a roll of bubble wrap.

Day 48

 17-02-10

I thought a lot about my glasses today.
I've been wearing glasses since I was 11 when it was obvious I wasn't seeing things as clear as I could have been.
With both my dad and my sister being short sighted it was probably inevitable really.
I've only had these frames since August '08 but as much as I love them I'm already itching for new ones.
My previous pair I'd had since 2000 and the ones before those since 1991.

(taking this photo was interesting as I couldn't find my other pair of glasses from the 2 for 1 deal I got with my current frames so I had to rely on the beep of the camera telling me when it was in focus. Everything is blurry to me otherwise!)

Day 47

 16-02-10

Today we received a piece of mail that wasn't a bill!
It was a post card from my sister.
She's been back in Australia for almost a week now but I still really appreciate that she thought of us! :)

Day 46

 15-02-10

After booking a spot to participate in the LoveYourCamera workshop on March 1st I guess I was somewhat inspired to have another play with the macro lenses.
Combining there being limited natural light inside my house plus my unsteady hand I didn't get many good shots but this one gets the honour of being my Day 46 photo.
I do have very pretty dust and streak free lenses though after giving them a clean!

Day 45

 14-02-10

I bought Callum some Play-Doh toys today.
I couldn't resist getting this one as I knew it would be so cute when his ears were squished through.
I was right!

Day 44

 13-02-10

My brother was a groomsman in a wedding today for friends of his.
My parents took his daughters to the church to see him "all dolled up" when he and the rest of the bridal party came out.
Alex and I tagged along too.
My youngest niece, Sammy, ADORED jumping in the puddles in her gumboots.

(and yes, it rained for the wedding. :( It's been raining ALL DAY but I have heard that rain on one's wedding day is meant to be good luck. I hope so cause we had a huge storm on my and Alex's wedding day! lol)

Day 43

 12-02-10

I took Callum to the library today.
Instead of looking at books my son went straight for the toy area.
I actually felt slightly embarrassed!
But, he did have fun so that's all that matters.

Day 42

 11-02-10

My vacuum cleaner had a good workout today.
A much needed workout.
When I downloaded this photo to my laptop it made me wonder...
Does anyone ever clean the outside of their vacuum cleaner?
Mine definitely needs it.
Gross.

Day 41

 10-02-10

Another day another summer storm.
This time I was able to go outside with the camera before the rain started.
I braved the strong winds that blew up and went snap happy.
Took a while to decide which one to post but I decided I loved the dark brooding storm clouds too much.
Am loving the rain for our dry, crispy, burnt out garden.
Just wish I hadn't put a load of washing on half an hour before the big clap of thunder happened!

Day 40

 09-02-10

Guess what happened in this house today!
I debated with myself a lot as to whether to actually post this photo but in the end my want of documenting this moment won.
While Callum is no where near toilet trained yet we had a lot of progress compared to other days.
He used his potty (as in the old school style potty, not what's in this photo) 3 times and one of those time he went all by himself and I only knew he used it until he came out to take me in to show me!
Looks like my little baby boy is growing up. :(
The step ladder seat is a milestone today as he sat on it for about 5 minutes (nothing happened though. lol) whereas other times he doesn't even sit still on it for 20 seconds!

(and no, Callum wasn't born with a black dot over himself. That's my addition. ;) )
